The LGBTQ Victory Fund is a national organization dedicated to getting openly LGBTQIA+ people elected to all levels of government. Its ultimate goal is to inspire LGBTQIA+ youth to continue working through growing pains and know that they’re not alone. It started out as a social media campaign and has now become a platform that reaches millions of young people per year. The It Gets Better Project is a nonprofit aiming to empower and connect LGBTQIA+ youth across the world. It provides resources for trans people, particularly in regards to legal issues, and offers information for family members and allies to learn how to support transgender people in their lives. Pride Fund to End Gun Violence is a political action committee that was founded in the wake of the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting. It shares resources, makes connections and teaches queer and trans people of color how to work on and improve their mental health - no matter what their socioeconomic background or financial status is. The National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network (NQTTCN) is an awesome organization that aims to better mental health for queer and trans people of color. GLSEN works to put an end to bullying and harassment by providing educators with resources to use in classrooms and communities. GLSEN works to transform K-12 schools into safe and welcoming environments for LGBTQIA+ students. It has in-person and online resources and a 24-hour mental health hotline. The Trevor Project is one of the most recognized names and leading organizations for providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQIA+ members under the age of 25. In honor of Pride month, here are 10 of them that you can donate to. Today, there are many local and national nonprofits and organizations that advocate for and serve the LGBTQIA+ community. The following six days served as a catalyst for the gay rights movement and galvanized LGBTQIA+ activism, resulting in the formation of multiple gay rights groups that fought for legislation that would protect their rights.
